How does this work?
Your portrait session is tailored to you and your family.
Before the big day, we will have a pre-session consultation either in your home or by phone. We’ll talk about you, your family, and what you’re looking for. I love hearing about family members’ personalities and favorite activities. We’ll also discuss how you want to display or preserve your portraits. All of this will help me create a personalized experience for you and your family on the day of your photo session.
About two weeks after your session, we’ll meet to view your proofs. At that time, we’ll decide what images work best for your needs and you will place your order.
Where will the sessions take place?
In order to create the most personal and meaningful portraits, we’ll choose a location that is important to you and your family. That might be the pond where your child catches tadpoles or under the trees where you frequently picnic. It may also be your home. We will discuss what options are best for you at your pre-session consultation.
I am happy to meet you in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Westchester, Northern New Jersey or the Hudson Valley. If you live more than an hour from my studio, I may charge a travel fee.
I also often find myself in Philadelphia and mid-coast Maine, and can arrange a portrait session with you there.
When can I have my portrait session?
I’m available both during the week and on weekends. Since I prefer to use natural light, my sessions are limited to daylight hours. My weekends often fill up, so please contact me as soon as possible to reserve your slot.
What is the investment?
The basic session fee is $250. This fee includes a portrait session lasting about an hour, post-production editing, a $50 print credit and a post-session consultation to look at your photographs and help you choose what to order. Ordering is expected at this consultation. Although there is no minimum purchase, most clients invest $500-$2,500 on albums, wall art and prints.
Does the session fee include a disk with my images?
While a standard session does not include files, I do offer packages which include some or all of the final, high resolution digitals.
If you want to share your portraits on social media, I will happily upload 5-10 watermarked images from your order to Facebook or my blog after you place your order.
When can I see my pictures?
The proofs are ready for viewing about two weeks after your portrait session. We will view them together at your ordering session.
When will my order be ready?
Depending on what you order, I will deliver your prints, albums and wall art 2-8 weeks after you place your order.
What kind of payment do you accept?
I accept check, cash, all major credit cards and PayPal. The session fee is required in order to hold your date.
